Steven John Owen (b. 1983, Bristol) is a contemporary emerging artist working with mixed media but often acrylic paint finished with a textured layer of oil pastel.

He’s drawn to muted, darker colours and tends to focus on strong, simple compositions. His work is as much about surface and texture as it is about the image itself, building up layers to give each piece a physical presence.
